About the Gush Etzion Winery

For over 25 years, the Gush Etzion Winery has been living the prophecy of the Judean land, as the tribe of Judah was promised land rich with vines and a abundance of wines.

And this is exactly the vision that the winery's founders, Shraga and Tamar Rozenberg, have been fulfilling since day one.

About the Gush Etzion Winery

But the Gush Etzion Winery didn't exactly start like every other winery- with grapes. It started with a blackberry bush in the Rozenberg's very own backyard! When the family had exhausted all of the blackberry cakes and pies they could eat, they decided to try something new: blackberry wine! And as delicious as blackberry wine is, Shraga knew he could make even more magic with the grapes of the Judean hills.

What started out as a hobby in the middle of his family's living room soon became a full fledged boutique winery in 2005, named the Gush Etzion Winery. With its original vineyards draping the slopes of the city of Efrat, the winery has grown throughout the area, gaining the support of local kibbutzim, and working in collaboration with them. Today, the winery is proud to own over 800 dunams of land, with vineyards growing all around the Judea and Samaria lands.

Alongside the winery sits a gorgeous visitors center, with a delicious dairy and fish restaurant, and event garden, a tourist vineyard, and boutique a gift shop with the local wines and delicacies. The center brings tourists on a journey through the wine-tasting world, starting with their archeological garden, teaching about the process of ancient winemaking, and the similarities to modern winemaking. The winery holds daily wine tours and tastings, and even has a special garden for events. Not to mention the jeep tours it offers through the surrounding hills and vineyards!

Coming to the Gush Eztion Winery is more than just the wine. It is an experience. Take in the beauty of the surrounding scenery of the Holy Land, sitting in the cool winds of the Judean hills, with wine in hand and gourmet food on your plate. Look out over the spectacular rolling hills, bursts of color, and sunshine covered vineyards, and step into a new world- one where the original vision of the Land of Israel has come to life!
