L'amod al harosh- לַעֲמֹד עַל הָרֹאשׁ

L'amod al harosh is "to stand on the head" or to do a headstand! What do headstands have to do with Israel?

If you've ever walked along the tayelet (boardwalk) by the beach in Tel Aviv, you might have noticed a statue of David Ben Gurion doing a headstand!

Quite a sight to see from the first Israeli Prime Minister. Where did this headstand come from?

Ben Gurion was very into exercise and yoga. He especially liked to do it at the beach. Now, on Frishman Beach, stands a statue of him doing a headstand (a recreation of an actual photo!)

Besides making a great photo opportunity, we recommend checking out the statue and try doing a headstand too.
